After crowding the Dasara and Deepavali weekends with multiple releases, Kannada film-makers are now aiming for a release in the Christmas weekend. At least half a dozen films, which include 3 notable releases have thrown their hats already.
Notable films that are targeting a Christmas release include Chakravarthy, Raajkumara, Hebbuli, Chowka, Sundaranga Jaana and Kirik Party. Out of these films, makers of Raajkumara and Hebbuli have decided to release their films in January.
Recently, the producers of Sundaranga Jana had officially announced that the film would be hitting the screens on December 23. The film was scheduled for release on December 9 and due to multiple reasons film was postponed by 2 weeks.
Rockline Entertainments and Geetha Arts being the top names in the industry will not postpone their movie again, as it would send wrong signals to the trade and industry. So Sundaranga Jana is confirmed for Christmas.
As per the latest reports, producers of Chowka have revealed that they are planning to release the film on December 23. But the film still has a major part of post production work pending and the audio is yet to be launched.
Talking about Chakravarthy, from Day 1, the producers are confident of releasing the movie for Christmas. Even recently, director Chinthan confirmed that his team is working day and night to meet the deadline of releasing the film for Christmas.
Recently the shoot was completed and team is busy with the post-production work now. The makers intend to release the music by the second week of December. We will have to wait for the official announcement of the release date.
Kirik Party, which has already created quite a buzz with trailer and songs released is also aiming for a December Release. With several big/notable releases lined up for December 23, it is quite certain that makers would look for another suitable date.
