Kaurava Sequel In Trouble!

Kaurava, which released in the year 1998, was a big hit then. This film gave its hero BC Patil, a star status and made S Mahendar the most sought-after director then. Songs composed by Hamsalekha for the film were hits.

Despite not delivering a decent success after Kaurava, BC Patil made back-to-back movies with the goodwill he gained with Kaurava. Later, S Mahendar and BC Patil reunited twice for Premachari and Jogula.

Both Premachari and Jogula sank at the box-office despite Jogula getting good reviews. Jogula was the last film produced by BC Patil before moving to the political arena. The news of Kaurava 2 came up several times but the project didn't take off.

Latest buzz is that S Mahendar is making a sequel to Kaurava, which is titled as Once More Kaurava. The movie has Naresh Gowda, playing the iconic character of Kaurava and Anusha Gowda, who made her silver screen debut with Sodabuddi, playing female lead.

Hero Naresh Gowda is producing the film as well. S Mahendar has bought in a good technical team for the sequel. AV Krishna Kumar is the cinematographer. Sridhar V Sambhram is the composer. BA Madhu is working on screenplay and dialogues.

As per the plans, team has planned for grand launch of the film in a temple in Nagarbhavi. But we wonder whether BC Patil is aware of this development and why he is not interested in the sequel.

BC Patil confirmed in the Happy New Year Press meet that he was the one who asked S Mahendar to prepare the script for the sequel of Kaurava. He had also invested a couple of Lakhs on the pre-production work of the film.

For reasons better known to S Mahendar, he chose to work with a different hero and producer for the script penned for BC Patil. BC Patil warned that he will not allow Mahendar to make the film with a different hero and also confirmed that he has registered the title.
