Nanjundi Kalyana, an iconic movie starring Raghavendra Rajkumar and Malashree was one of the biggest hits then. Also, the movie had a theatrical run of over 1 year and did excellent business at the box-office.
You may wonder, why are we discussing about the yesteryear blockbuster? Now, a new film starring Thanush of Madamakki fame has been titled Nanjundi Kalyana. However, the team confirms that the movie has nothing to do with the original and it is a fresh story.
The film will be directed by actor/writer Rajendra Karanth and film is said to be the story of a mother who is looking for a perfect match for his son. The team assures that this will be a laugh riot.
Before confirming the title, the team met Raghavendra Rajkumar and narrated the script & the need for the title. Raghanna, as he is called by fans, loved the script and gave a go ahead for using the iconic title.
The team conducted auditions for selecting the heroine and official announcement is expected to be made very soon. As of now Arun Sagar, Seetha Kote have been signed on to play important roles.
Rajendra Karanth will be penning script and dialogues, apart from directing the film. Jagadish Wali has been roped in as the cinematographer. KM Prakash will be editing the film and Sathish Aryan will be composing the music for four songs.
The film is bankrolled by Sriram Talkies and this will be their maiden venture. The team intends to complete the pre-production work by October end. As of now, makers are busy finalizing cast and crew of the film.
