Weekend With Ramesh Highlights: Darshan's Journey From A Light Boy To Superstar!


Challenging Star Darshan was the guest of honour in the last episode of Kannada's popular talk show Weekend With Ramesh. The actor shared the details of his journey from a light boy to a Superstar in Kannada film industry. 

Darshan is the son of veteran actor Thoogudeepa Srinivas and Meena Thoogudeep. The good looking actor has an elder sister Divya & younger brother Dinakar Thoogudeep. 


Joins As A Light Boy

After his father's death, Darshan joined KFI as a light boy to earn bread & butter to support his family.

Debut Movie Majestic

Darshan made his debut through Majestic in 2002. The actor played a negative role in the action-crime movie

After establishing himself as a lead actor through Majestic, Darshan played an action hero in Kariyaa directed by Jogi Prem. The movie have huge break to the actor. 

With Rakshitha In Suntaragaali

Comeback Movie Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna

When everybody thought that Darshan is done with the movies, the actor made a comeback with movie Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna. He played the role of great freedom fighter Sangolli Rayanna. 

Box Office Sultan

In pic Darshan from the movie Bulbul. Bulbul is the official remake of Telugu hit movie Darling. The Kannada remake starred Darshan & Rachita Ram in lead role. 

Relishing The Success Of Viraat

Darshan's 46th movie Viraat has released on Jan 29. The movie portrays Darshan as a business tycoon. Though the film has received mixed reviews, Viraat has collected Rs 4 Crores on its first day at the box office. 

50th Movie Sarvantrayami

Darshan's 50th movie has been titled as 'Sarvantrayami'. He will be seen in his upcoming movie Jaggu Dada for 2016-17, say sources. 

"He was a good-hearted notorious child from his childhood days. Darshan was an average student in school. Thus, his father made him study Diploma in Mechanics in his college days", said mother Meena Thoogudeep. 

Talking about the same, Darshan revealed that, "I was very bad in studies and thus found it very difficult study the course, thus I quit Diploma" said the 'Box Office Sultan' to the host Ramesh Aravind. 

After quitting the course, Darshan had to look after his ailing father, thus he stayed back at home. A few days later, he decided to join the acting school 'Ninasam'. 

Though his father opposes him from joining the acting school, Darshan Darshan convinces his mother & joins Ninasam. He learns acting, production work and lot many things at the acting school. 

"I borrowed 500 rupees from my mess owner, when I heard my father was no more". said the actor in tears. With great difficulty Darshan completed his acting course and enters Kannada film industry as light boy for Shivarajkumar starrer Janumadi Jodi. 

Darshan has worked as a model, light boy, assistant and also a TV artist before becoming a successful actor in Sandalwood. His debut movie Majestic gave him a huge break and with the same gratitude and he has given 46 movies so for Kannada audiences. 

Did you guys know? The Kariyaa actor owns 118 animals in his farmhouse, Mysore. He loves horse riding and cattle farming. In spite of being the son of a renowned actor, Darshan has struggled a lot to find his bread & butter! 

The actor is presently relishing the success of his 46th movie Viraat. Directed by Vasu and produced by Kalyan, Darshan paired opposite three lead heroines Isha Chawla, Vidisha Srivastava & Chaitra Chandranath. 

Overall, Darshan is a real Challenging Star and he still continues to be!
