Day
17
Collections
As
per
the
latest
trade
estimates,
The
Villain
collected
Rs
60
Lakh
at
the
Karnataka
box
office
on
Saturday(November
4,
2018)
and
showed
signs
of
slowing
down.
That
said
and
done,
this
is
still
a
decent
figure
as
the
film
has
been
in
the
theatres
for
more
than
two
weeks
Did
The
Mixed
WOM
Slow
Down
The
Villain?
The
general
feeling
is
that
The
Villain
is
a
decent
film
and
it
does
full
justice
to
Sudeep's
‘mass
hero'
image.
However,
Shivanna's
fans
are
not
too
happy
about
the
film
as
the
actor
has
a
smaller
role
compared
to
Deepanna.
Some
fans
have
also
pointed
out
that
the
screenplay
is
a
bit
‘illogical.
As
such,
the
WOM
is
mixed.
And,
this
seems
to
one
of
the
reasons
behind
the
drop
in
the
collections.
A
Winner
In
Its
Own
Right
Regardless
of
the
final
box
office
verdict,
The
Villain
is
a
landmark
film
for
Sandawood
and
it
has
already
set
quite
a
few
records.
The
film
was
released
on
500
screens
in
Karnataka
during
the
first
week
and
this
made
it
the
biggest
release
for
a
Kannada
film.
Similarly,
its
performance
in
the
first
two
weeks
simply
fabulous.
The
Way
Ahead...
The
Villain
is
likely
to
witness
some
growth
during
the
Diwali
break
and
this
might
help
it
maintain
a
grip
on
the
box
office
for
a
few
more
days.
All
in
all,
The
Villain
mania
is
still
far
from
over.
