Actress
Vijayalakshmi
Singh,
who
had
earlier
taken
the
responsibility
of
producing
films
and
had
worked
as
a
film
designer,
is
now
making
her
debut
as
a
film
director
with
Ee
Bandhana,
which
has
now
become
a
highly-awaited
film
in
Kannada.
Ee
Bandhana
has
a
big
star
cast
with
veteran
actor
Dr.
Vishnuvardhan
and
glamorous
actress
Jayaprada
in
the
lead
roles.
The
film
has
Darshan,
the
young
star
in
another
important
role.
Anant
Nag,
Doddanna
and
Jennifer
add
to
the
big
star
cast
of
this
film.
Jayaprada
is
returning
to
the
Kannada
film
industry
after
a
long
gap.
She
is
happy
that
she
has
a
plum
role
in
this
film,
which
is
being
directed
by
her
trusted
friend
Vijayalakshmi
Singh.
"I
have
got
a
good
role
in
the
film;
to
work
with
a
big
star
like
Vishnuji
is
an
additional
bonus," says
Jayaprada.
Ee
Bandhana,
director
Vijayalakshmi
Singh
maintains,
is
based
on
an
original
script
written
by
her,
though
many
news
items
in
the
print
media
had
suggested
that
the
film
was
a
remake
of
the
Hindi
hit
Baghbaan
starring
Amitabh
Bachchan
and
Hema
Malini.
The
Hindi
film
is
about
an
aged
couple
whose
children
do
not
want
to
take
their
responsibility.
Taking
the
same
thread,
the
director
has
woven
the
story
with
new
incidents
and
moulded
it
to
the
tastes
of
Kannada
audiences.
Many
films
have
been
made
on
this
subject
in
many
languages.
The
fresh
director
has
tried
a
fresh
approach
to
the
subject.
Ms.
Singh
also
added
that
she
took
up
direction
of
the
film
mainly
because
it
was
her
film's
lead
actor
Dr.
Vishnuvardhan's
suggestion.
"He
saw
me
showing
lot
of
interest
in
the
film
and
even
suggested
that
I
direct
this
film.
We
did
try
Sachin,
well-known
Marathi
actor-director,
but
he
was
too
busy
to
take
up
the
project.
And
finally
the
mantle
came
on
to
me," said
Singh.
Dr.
Vishnuvardhan
is
happy
about
the
songs
of
the
film.
"Mano
Murthy
has
done
a
fantastic
job.
We
have
done
our
work.
It
is
up
to
the
people
to
see
the
film
and
judge
our
work,"
says
Vishnu
philosophically.
Vijayalakshmi
Singh
has
a
lot
of
appreciation
for
her
writer
B.A.
Madhu.
Madhu
has
showed
a
lot
of
involvement
in
improvising
the
script
and
his
dialogues
would
be
the
highlight
of
this
film,
she
says.
The
film's
editing
is
over
and
the
final
DTS
work
is
in
progress.
