The film Bhagyada Balegara is a Bangle vendor's love story. Saiprakash has tried to weave in a love story dominated by heavy-duty, melodramatic sentiments. The movie gives a slice of village life and culture. It has good narration, excellent placement of sequences and songs, but the story, which is written by Ajay Kumar, lacks freshness.
The movie has all the commercial elements like comedy, fight and romance. The highlights of Bhagyada Balegara are Shivaraj Kumar and Navya Nair's performance, Ilayaraja's music, Malavalli Saikrishna's dialogues. It has all regular aspects, but it does not offer anything that is new.
Chennayya (Shivraj Kumar) is a bangle vendor in a village. Besides this, he also helps his villagers. He falls in love with Cheluvi (Navya Nair) who is also from his village. But she is forced to get married to another guy. But her husband rejects her after knowing about her relationship with Chennayya. What happens next will form the rest of the story.
Shivarj Kumar has given a sterling performance with his mannerisms and dialogue delivery. Along with him actress Navya Nair steals the show. With her silent role in the movie, she wins the heart of audience. Shobha Raghavendra is also brilliant. Director Saiprakash is successful in using all the artistes. Doddanna, Sadhu Kokila, Sureshchandra, Prakash Heggodu, Maico Shivu will also rock the show.
The music of Bhagyada Balegara is expected to break the records set by Janumada Jodi. Maestro Ilayaraja has composed music and a few songs are very melodious especially 'Ahha Minchulli...', 'Kannalle Kaduvanu...' and 'Bhagyada Balegara...' will haunt the audience. The dialogues written by Malavalli Saikrishna are very catchy and are another highlights of the movie. M R Seenu's camera work has failed to make any impression.
In a nutshell, the movie Bhagyada Balegara is good family entertainer and it can be watched and enjoyed once.
