Nam Yajamanru Review

After 27 years, director S Nagabharana has teamed with Vishnu for the film NamYajamanru (Nam Yejamanru). Earlier the duo had worked together for the movie Bangarada Jinke. The diretor has chosen a psychological problem for the theme of the movie. Unlike Aptamitra, the movie has got originality in content as well as way of narrating the story. The award winning director has come out the movie with serious concept when Kannada film industry suffers from either remakes or the movies that glorify rowdyism. The movie is clearly a family entertainer.

Although the movie seems like a sequel to Vinuvardhan starrer remake Aptamitra at the core, it is total different and original creation of Nagabharana. It deals with a psychological decease called Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). DID is a condition in which a single person displays multiple distinct identities or personalities. The director has made a sincere effort, while dealing with the problem.

Shashank (Vishnuvardhan) runs a marriage bureau called Janumadajodi.com. Alok (Vijaya Raghavendra) claims that Shashank's wife Urmila (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy) is his lover. He alleges that Shashank has cheated him by marrying his lover. The detective officer (Anantnag) finds out the truth that Shashank's wife is dead and Charulatha, who is suffering from a multiple disorder syndrome, is pretending to be his wife. The story of the movie is how her mental disorder is cured.

Nam Yajamanru has all the elements like comedy, fights and sentimental scenes to create interest among the audiences. The stereotyped narration and complex story line make the audiences sit and watch the movie holding their breath. The director has got tight grip on the story line and the second half, which has lot of interesting events, holds the the audiences tightly.

Sahasa Simha Dr. Vishnuvardhan has given wonderful performance, which is feast to the audiences, who were waiting for Visnu's movie for long. Navya Nair, who has played Charu, an MSD patient, has given an unpredictable performance. Vijaya Raghavendra, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Anant Nag, Ramesh Bhat have also done justice to their roles.

Hamsalekha's music, which has already become hit, and Ramesh Babu's cinematography are another highlight of the movie.

Over all it can be said that Kannada film industry is filled with movies glorifying rowdyism and glamour, which are not worth for a family to sit together and watch them. In this regard, Nam Yajamanru is a masterpiece and it is a must watch movie for everyone, who is human being.
