Rajani - Review

By By: Shekhar H Hooli

After facing lots of hardship, producer Ramu has released his movie Rajani as a presentation to Real star Upendra on his birthday. Earlier, Uppi's movies like Raktha Kanneeru, and Budhdhivantha were released on his birthday and proved successful at the Box Office. Now, Rajani also seems to be going to rock the Box Office.

Uppi's Rajani is a comedy-cum-action thriller. It is a remake of Telugu film Krishna. VV Vinayak has directed it and Ravi Teja Trisha are in the lead. The movie has become a big hit. Rajani director Thriller Manju has given new look to it with rich production values. It has all commercial ingredients like comedy, action, music and sentimental story.

The main attraction of Rajani is the comedy element. The highlights of the movie are Upendra's performance, Arati Chabbria's glamour, Rangayana Raghu's comedy Hamsalekha's music, action sequences and good technical work.

Rajani has been designed to entertain the audience with a perfect blend of commercial elements. The comedy in the movie is sure to keep the audience in splits all the time. The very beginning of the movie creates interest among the audience. Compared to Uppi's previous movie Dubai Babu, Rajani has a much better second half, which makes the audience laugh and dance in the theatre.

Rajani (Upendra) is an young unemployed software engineer. He is a happy-go-lucky guy, who falls in love with a beautiful girl called Sandhya. Yekka and his friends trail Sandhya to take revenge on her rich brother. How Rajani saves Sandhya from Yekka's gang will form the rest of the story.

Upendra is the show man of the movie Rajani. He has delivered wonderful performance both in comedy and action sequences. But the dialogue king tries to speak like Ravi Teja in the movie, which is unwanted. Aarti Chhabria appears very glamourous in bikinis. Rangayana Raghu's comedy is another highlight of the movie. His confusion laced dialogues are a treat to audiences. Mandya Ramesh, Sadhu Kokila, Bollywood actor Mukul Dev, Sharat Lohithashwa, Doddanna, Ramesh Bhat, Bullet Prakash have done justice to their respective roles.

Hamsalekha's musical score is another feasting in the movie Rajani. Out of five composition, at least tow songs are very melodious. Especially, the song 'Tiruboki...' is sure to become a block buster song.

Finally, it can be said although Upendra's movie Rajani is remake of Telugu movie, it is a must watch movie.
