Though the title of the film will reminds us the early movie of Crazy Star Ravichandran and Khushboo's Anjada Gandu, it is totally a different film with a refreshing tale. As his previous movie Kirataka, director Pradeep Raj has set Anjadu Gandu in rural backdrop (Mandya). It deals with the love story of a village guy Santhu (Neensam Sathish). The film starts with a flashback, which is narrated by Santhu.
Santhu will be assisting his father in the construction work. He falls in love with his neighbour Geetha (Subhiksha), whose father and uncles are the dreaded goons in the village. Though it will not be a two way love story, Santhu will be successful in proving the same to his friends. Situation will get worse, when Geetha's marriage will be arranged with an influential man. No one can match Sathish's village accent. Neenasam Sathish, who
had already caught the attention of the moviegoers as a typical
village guy even before Lucia, is mind blowing in his
Malayali beauty Subhiksha is making her Sandalwood debut with
Anjada Gandu. She has performed her role as an innocent
village girl beautifully.
Comedy can be considered as the main highlight of the movie. It
keeps the audience engaged, whenever the story goes in the slow
pace. Comedians Chikkanna and Raju Taalikote is rocking in their
body language and comedy timing.
Anjada Gandu is simply rocking in its amazing
dialogues. As the movie is set in the rural backdrop, it is filled
with many Kannada proverbs and other sayings.
Director Pradeep Raj is successful by making the remake movie to
suit the mind set of Kannada audience. He has extensively shot the
movie in Madikeri and Mandya districts, which is a feast for your
Neenasam Sathish is the winner. It is a must watch movie for the
audience, who had enjoyed Sathish's role as a village guy in
Lifeu Ishtene and Drama. Slow pace in the second
half and unnecessary duet songs are the minute drawbacks. The movie
is one time watchable.
