'Drishyam' Exits Top 10 Worldwide Malayalam Films: 'Drishyam,' the iconic Malayalam crime thriller that took the world by storm in 2013, has finally exited the list of the Top 10 Worldwide Malayalam films after being part of it for an astounding 3550+ days.
The movie, directed by Jeethu Joseph and starring Mohanlal, Meena, and a talented ensemble cast, captured hearts with its gripping storyline and stellar performances. It was produced by Antony Perumbavoor for Aashirvad Cinemas. Released on December 19, 2013, in Kerala, 'Drishyam' not only garnered widespread critical acclaim but also became the first Malayalam film to cross the ₹50 crore mark at the box office.
This blockbuster film ran for over 150 days in theatres, setting records and becoming the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time at the time of its release. It held this title until 2016, when 'Pulimurugan' took over. Additionally, 'Drishyam' was the longest-running Malayalam film in the United Arab Emirates, enjoying a theatrical run for 125 days.
