Just a couple of weeks after the release of Mohanlal’s movie Bhramaram, another Malayalam superstar, Mammootty has released his Ee Pattanathil Bhootham. Although it is his first film in 2009, he has done nothing but added one more movie to the list of his flop movies like Parunthu, Mayabazzar and Love in Singapore.
Director Johny Antony, who is popularly known for his comedy films, has delivered another comedy for children. Ee Pattanathil Bhootham (EPB)is a fantasy movie, which also seems to be meant for children. Like the tales of Balaramayan, the movie deals with magic and bhootham.
There are very few plus points in EPB to count. Hilarious slapstick comedy, Mammootty’s performance, and amazing graphic work are few of the highlights. But the number of minus points is more. Johny Antony’s selection of weak script and uninteresting way of narration spoil the movie, which has a predictable story line, characters and situations. The movie seems to be very dull because of too much of animation. Shaan’s music is another let down and it could have been bettered lot more.
