Corrupt cops become fashionable!

Playing the role of police officers still remains very popular among our heroes in Malayalam. But these days, they are more interested in the roles of cops with a shade of negativity.

In all probabilities, the trend was popularized by M Padhmakumar's critically acclaimed film Vargam with Prithviraj in which the hero played the role of a police officer who had no qualms about accepting bribes and turning a blind eye towards crimes. Dileep too is going to play a very similar role in his new film Inspector Garuda.

In this comedy film, directed by Johnny Anthony, Dileep plays the role of a young man who always dreamt of becoming a cop. He finds out that selection process isn't all that fair and just. There are rates for each post- Rs 10 Lakhs for sub-Inspector and Rs 15 Lakhs for Circle Inspector. He decides to become a CI. Within four months, he recovers his "investments" and before the end of the year, he earns the dubious distinction of having been transferred a massive 24 times!!!

Dileep plays the role of CI Madhavan Kutty, the corrupt police officer in the film.
