Mammooty- Tragedy King?

For some strange reasons, Mammooty had, of late, accepted a bit too many films that aren't your typical light-hearted entertainers.

Director Kamal's Karutha Pakshikal, which was released recently, is one such film. Surprisingly, the film has received lot of critical acclaim and is doing good business at the box office. In another few days, his second film with director Blessy, Palunku, will hit the theatres.

This one too is a very saddening film about a farmer who is driven to the verge of suicide by money-lenders.

His new film Kaioppu too is rumored to be a very heavy subject. Mammooty plays the role of a writer in the film. Khushboo stars as his close childhood friend who returns to Kerala in search of him. Ranjit is the director.

Thankfully, the superstar has lined up a laugh-riot entertainer too amidst all these tear-jerkers. In Maayavi, he plays the title role of Maayavi IAS. IAS stands for 'Iruttu Adi Service'. His character is obsessed with maintaining law and order around him.
