Mammootty to act in offbeat English film

Due to his busy schedule shooting for Malayalam movies, Superstar Mammootty has hardly found time to spend with his family in Chennai. Now and then, an opportunity comes his way, which frees him from his hectic regular shooting schedule. Being the highest paid in the Malayalam Film Industry, he has started to value these breaks over his pay.

Lately he was offered one such film - that of an offbeat English movie titled The Late night Beggar. Mammootty is to play the lead role in the film, which will be directed by debutante director S. Karthika. The legendary actor will play the role of a doctor in the film. The entire film will be shot in Mamallutram near Chennai.

The story is based on a real life experience of the director, who had first published this story in a magazine. The story written is based on her shocking experiences on the streets of Mumbai. Neetu Chandra and Rohini will also be acting in the film apart from Malavika.

Mahesh Muthuswamy of Tamil hit film Chiththiram Pesuthedi fame will handle the camera for this film. After finding the story of the film inspirational, the actor has given 5 days from his callsheet for the films shooting. He has liked the story so much that he has also offered a few more days if need be. It is mentionable here that the director has been planned to complete the film's shooting within 20 days!
