Malayalam superstar Mammotty will celebrate Onam 2007 by doing charity. On the occasion of the festival, he will distribute food to over a 100 people in village in Kerala - the worst hit by the chicken guinea epidemic. The village has suffered the most deaths due to chicken guinea. A food packet consisting of rice and pulses among other things will be distributed to the residents of Parathodu village near Kanjirappally in Kottayam district.

The superstar has maintained that it is not publicity event. As a matter of fact, he will not be present while the food is being distributed. Kerala chief minister VS Achuthanandan will distribute the food. He intends to get other celebrities to do the same for those affected by the dreaded disease.
