Chennai girl Manju with Mammootty

Manju is the new heroine for Mammootty in Renji Panikkar's Shouryam (Rowdram) in which the actor will play the role of a tough cop for the 25 th time! Mammootty is playing the role of a strict police commissioner and Manju is acting as his wife in the film.

Manju is a Malayalee girl from Chennai and has passed out of Ethiraj College. She is now doing her fashion technology course at Chennai's Taramani Institute. The director came to know about the girl through a family friend. He was searching a fresh face for the female lead role against Mammootty, and suddenly Manju's face flashed in his mind. When the director approached Manju for acting against Mammootty, she accepted the offer cheerfully. Her parents also gave their approval without any hesitation.

Shouryam is an action packed police story, based on a recent happening in Kerala politics. The others in the cast are Sai Kumar, Lalu Alex, Vijayraghavan, Rajan.P.Dev and others.

The film is expected to be released on November 29.
