Padmapriya set to conquer Malluwood

By Super Admin

The aura in Malluwood is strange. Local girls make acting debut and it big in Malayalam and then go to other languages films, mainly Tamil and Telugu film for greener pastures. There is a long line of Malluwood girls like Asin, Nayanatara, Meera Jasmine etc who are busy elsewhere. Well, this trend is a blessing in disguise for Padmapriya. She is steadily strengthening her hold in Malluwood.

She made her debut in Malayalam with Blessy's Kazhcha in 2004, followed by Amrutham. She then ventured into Tamil with Thavamai Thavamirundhu and went on to do films like Pattiyal and others. However, her career in Malayalam boomed last year. She also got the chance to work with all the big names in Malluwood. Now she is kicking and raring to go.

"2006-2007 had been a very good year for me in Malayalam. I was able to do some noteworthy roles, mostly in superstar films. I like Malayalam cinema, as the characters they portray are true to life. No other language can offer this much of good characters as Malluwood is giving me. Even though the remuneration is a bit low, I prefer to focus on Malayalam," said Padmapriya.

This year too looks bright with some interesting projects on hand. She is going to act with Suresh Gopi in Time, with Mohanlal in Pardesi and with Mammootty in Pazhassi Raja. Besides these projects, she also has a few more films with Prithviraj. Her career is sure going to scale great heights if she goes at the current pace.
