Simran's
counsel
has
issued
legal
notices
to
the
producer
and
director
of
Heartbeat
seeking
Rs.20
crores
as
compensation
for
portraying
her
as
an
AIDS-afflicted
woman
in
the
film.
Heartbeat
was
the
re-debut
film
of
Simran
after
her
marriage
but
turned
into
a
disaster
at
the
box
office.
In
this
film,
she
was
shown
as
an
HIV
infected
woman
who
dies
later
due
to
this
deadly
disease.
Simran
has
alleged
that
the
producer
and
the
director
have
deliberately
done
this,
as
she
had
walked
out
of
the
project
after
a
dispute
with
the
latter.
After
its
release,
the
film
also
failed
to
attract
audiences,
and
the
cans
were
returned
within
a
week
itself!
Sources
say
that
the
actress
had
earlier
decided
to
demand
Rs.2
crores
as
compensation.
But
after
holding
discussions
with
her
counsel,
she
has
raised
the
amount
to
Rs.20
crores.
Her
lawyer
has
sent
a
formal
notice
to
the
producer
of
Heartbeats
Jolly
Joseph
and
director
Vinu
Anand
on
Friday.
It
is
worth
remebering
that
budget
of
the
movie
was
less
than
Rs.1
crore,
and
Simran
got
Rs.6
lakhs
only
as
her
salary
for
the
film!
