Convent to re-open Sister Abhaya case

Right after director Vinayan announced his project titled Pious Tenth Garden based on the infamous Sister Abhaya murder case, director K. Madhu has announced Convent, a sequel to their movie Crime File, which is also based on the same incident. The cast and crew are are yet to be finalized Crime File had Sureshgopi playing the lead role of a top police officer.

The 16 year old case again became the talk of the town when, two weeks ago, the CBI nabbed two Catholic priests and a nun in connection with the murder of Sister Abhaya. In Crime File, there have been hints of the priests" involvement but in the end, the real culprit is shown as a layman who had a grudge against Sister Abhaya. With the arrest of the priests and the nun, the story is taking an interesting turn; it is heard that the new film will focus on the facts which were omitted in the earlier version.

Crime File was a huge hit not only because of the public interest in the murder of an innocent nun but also because its tight script, punch dialogues and the thrilling climax.
