New lease of life for Vadakku Nokki Yanthram
Malayalam filmmaker Sreenivasan's Vadakku Nokki Yanthram is being remade in Tamil as Dindigul Sarathi. His Malayalam blockbuster Katha Parayumbol has been recently remade as Rajinikanth starrer Kuselan, directed by P. Vasu. Vadakku Nokki Yanthram is one of the Malayalam blockbusters of the 90's by acclaimed actor, screenwriter and director Sreenivasan who was also the hero opposite Parvathi.

Dindigul Sarathi, being shot in Karaikudi and Dindigul, stars Karunas and Karthika in the lead roles. 90% of the shooting is over, director Siva Shanmugam said. The movie, the story of human complexities that are likely to arise when a dark man marries a fair, beautiful girl, captures the complexities humorously.

"I have put in all the necessary ingredients to make it a hit at the box-office. I have woven sentiment and sacrifice into the screenplay so that the entire family can sit together and watch the film," Siva Shanmugam said.

Karunas plays the hero for the first time and is happy that the film has shaped up well so far. "The offer to cast me as the hero came as a surprise and I accepted it only after much hesitation. Now I'm sure it will be a success," he said.

The film is produced by Air Media Network and music is scored by Dina. Dialogues are by Ramnath and the stunts are choreographed by Super Subbarayan.
