The
Film
Employees
Federation
of
South
India
(FEFSI),
one
of
the
apex
bodies
of
film
organizations
in
India,
has
decided
to
take
disciplinary
actions
against
former
MACTA
secretary,
director
Vinayan,
Baiju
Kottarakkara,
Biju
Vattappara
and
Aleppey
Ashraf.
According
to
the
decision
taken
at
a
meeting
in
Chennai,
in
future,
FEFSI
and
Indian
Film
Employees
Confederation
(IFEC)
will
not
cooperate
with
the
films
made
by
these
four.
The
disciplinary
actions
were
initiated
for
their
alleged
involvement
in
creating
tensions
in
the
proposed
fresh
election,
which
was
originally
scheduled
for
6th
and
7th
September.
But
the
election
was
postponed
after
a
fracas
at
MACTA
office
in
Kochi.
The
supporters
of
two
factions,
led
by
director
Vinayan
and
Siddhique,
resorted
to
mindless
violence
at
the
office
of
MACTA
during
filing
of
nominations
last
month.
Three
people,
including
a
policeman,
were
injured
during
the
fight.
Meanwhile,
Baiju
Kottarakkara,
a
strong
member
of
the
Vinayan
faction,
made
it
clear
that
they
will
question
these
measures
in
court,
if
the
organizations
plan
to
go
forward
with
the
non-cooperation
activities.
