The meeting held among MACTA members to discuss the Dileep issue witnessed some hot happenings today. MACTA secretary, director Vinayan, and director Siddique exchanged words in a heated argument and the latter walked out of the meeting in the end.
Siddique is going to start a new project named Bodyguard with Dileep in the lead; Vinayan asked him to stop it since director Thulasidas has complained against Dileep. But Siddique, on the other hand, refused to back off from the project, thus going against the wishes of the secretary.
It is heard that during the argument between the two, Vinayan made some personal bad comments humiliating Siddique and all directors. Following the events in the meeting, writer-director Ranjit announced his resignation from MACTA. Following suit, now 26 directors have resigned from MACTA and 9 of the 19 associated unions are showing signs of their dissent.
On the other hand, secretary Vinayan said that he would be forced to take disciplinary measures against those who revolt and try to weaken MACTA.
