MACTA honours its veterans

Actor Thilakan, lyricist Yousefali Kecheri and composer M.G. Radhakrishnan were felicitated at 'Gurupranamam', a function organized by the Malayalam Cine Technicians' Association (MACTA) at Thrissur District Co-operative Bank Hall on Thursday. They were also given special memberships in MACTA in the function as an honour to their comprehensive contributions and service to the Malayalam film industry.

MACTA chairman Hari Kumar chaired the function which was inaugurated by literary giant M.T. Vasudevan Nair. Addressing the function, M.T. Vasudevan Nair recalled their contribution to Malayalam cinema. He said that the cine artistes should be attached to society. "They should also think what they can contribute to the society and humanity rather than their own gain."

Writer-director Lohithadas, director Satyan Anthikad and singer K.S. Chitra paid homage to Thilakan, Yusefali Kecheri and M.G. Radhakrishnan respectively.

Directors Joshi, K. Madhu, Kamal, Priyanandanan, Kalavoor Ravikumar, B. Unnikrishnan, T.G. Ravi, S.N. Samy, Sobhana Parameswaran Nair, M.P. Sukumaran Nair, Madhu Kaithapram, Chittoor Gopi, Sreejith Ravi, Balachandran Chullikad, Biju Narayanan, KFDC Chairman K.G. George, Film Academy Chairman K.R. Mohanan, Film Employees' Federation Chairman Sibi Malayil, Kerala Film Chamber President Dr. Fazal Gafoor, Santhimadom Chairman Dr. Radhakrishnan also attended the function.
