Mammootty and Rafi-Mecartin's Love in Singapore, director Raj Babu's Dileep starrer Colours, Jayaram's Samasathakeralam P.O., Suresh Gopi's comedy flick Hailesa and V.M. Vinu Sreenivasan"s Makante achan are the five major films getting ready to grace theatres in January 2009.
Produced by MHM films, Love In Singapore presents Mammootty as 'Aakry Machu', a man who rose to financial heights after starting his life as a scrap dealer. Tamil and Telugu actor Navneet Kaur is the heroine. Also in the cast are Suraj Venjaramoodu, Salimkumar, Harishree Ashokan, Rajan P. Dev, Lalu Alex and Nedumudi Venu.
Colours, a full-fledged comedy entertainer with script by V.C. Ashok, is produced by Aroma, one of the oldest production houses in Malayalam. After Chess, Dileep plays a blind person in Colours. Roma is the heroine.

Director Thaha's Hailesa is an action based comedy thriller, produced by Jagatheesh Chandran under the banner of Kichu films with Sureshgopi in the lead. The movie also has Vijayaraghavan, Cochin Haneefa, Bheeman Raghu, Salim Kumar, Biju Kuttan, Kalasala Babu, Narayanan Kutty and Jaffer Idukki in major roles.
Director V.M. Vinu's Makante Achan, a prestigious production of Seven Arts after their recent Rajinikanth movie Kuselan, is a family entertainer which revolves around a nuclear family consisting of a Village Officer Viswanathan (Sreenivasan), wife Hema (Suhasini) and their only son Manu (Vineeth Sreenivasan). The movie is planned as a lighthearted comedy with some family sentiments.
