Noted Malayalam actress Mallika Sukumaran, who has been allegedly instrumental in hiding Chandramathi, an accused in the recent controversial financial fraud case of financial firm Total4U (owned by Sabarinath), will be questioned by Kerala Crime Branch police soon.
Chandramathi, SIDCO Assistant Manager and adviser of financial firm Total4U, is still absconding. Crime Branch got information that Chandramathi had stayed in a house of Mallika's relative at Bangalore.
Chandramathi's stay at Bangalore and Mallika's involvement in the case were first revealed by a leading Malayalam daily without mentioning the actress' name. However, Mallika and her daughter-in-law Poornima Indrajith have denied all allegations raised by the newspaper during a press conference held at Thiruvananthapuram.
Mallika, mother of upcoming stars Prithviraj and Indrajith, said that she has no connection with Total4U or Chandramathi. The sources said that police will question Mallika to check the veracity of the reports in the media. Investigators reportedly have solid evidence to establish the connection between Chandramathi and Mallika.
Malayalam actress Roma and director Major Ravi were also subjected to interrogation by the Kerala Crime Branch personnel last month in connection with the same financial fraud by Sabarinath, who was arrested by the police in September.
