Superstar Mammootty has been invited to be the chief guest at the 6th World Malayalee Conference 2008, global Malayalee event to be held from August 22 to 24 in Singapore. Mammootty confirmed that he has been invited and will attend the event, organized by the World Malayalee Council (WMC), established in 1995 in the US.

"World Malayalee Council (WMC) was formed with a view to network Malayalees spread across the continents, to come together on a global platform, to discuss how to tap the global opportunities," said Andrew Pappachen, WMC Global Chairman.

The conference will be packed with events for global Malayalee professionals, entrepreneurs, WMC province leaders and businessmen from America, Middle East, Europe, India, Africa and Asia Pacific. It will also have distinguished speakers and panel discussions on business leadership, entrepreneurship, Malayalee culture, tourism, and traditional medicine.

Andrew Pappachen said, "WMC has implemented several projects in Kerala to help the economically disadvantaged, which include village adoption, women's employment training, scholarship for poor children, old age care etc." WMC has also formed a chamber of commerce and has registered with the Indian government to network Malayali businessmen and entrepreneurs around the world.
