Is Gopinath Muthukad, a leading magician in Kerala, using Mohanlal for his publicity by preparing the star to perform a stunt called 'Burning Illusion' to be held on 27 April in Thiruvananthapuram? Knowing that the question is very controversial, let's look into the related news!
300 magicians from the magician community in Kerala have come up with a memorandum to be submitted to the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA), requesting it to urge Mohanlal to withdraw from the dangerous performance.
"Burning Illusion is one item that can be performed only after years of experience and Muthukad himself has failed in his attempt at a show in Bahrain a few years back," Samrat, another leading magician, told the reporters. He has advised Mohanlal not to perform the daredevil act. Muthukad is now using Mohanlal for cheap publicity and this should not happen, he added.
But Muthukad dismissed Samrat's fears. "We are confident of what we have planned because we have done several successful trials. We have been doing it for long and it is only now that people came to know about it," Muthukad said.
The open-air escape stunt, to be held as a part of the four days international magicians' meet 'Vismayam 2008' at Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium, will be witnessed by nearly 1,000 magicians from across the world. The meet will start on May 1.
