Superstar Mohanlal is back to film distribution, something he had done eight years back! The actor and producer Antony Perumbavoor have decided to set up a film distribution company, Maxlab Entertainments, to establish a multiplex chain throughout Kerala.

The first multiplex will be coming up near Chalakudy, at a cost of Rs. 25 crore. Work on it would start sometime in September. Industrialist K.C. Babu and Asianet chief K. Madhavan will also co-venture with this project. Mohanlal, Antony and a group of close friends will also launch a television channel in the near future, sources said.

Earlier, Mohanlal and producer Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirwad Cinemas had said goodbye to their long-standing association with Central Pictures, Kottayam, the oldest distributors in Kerala. Aashirwad and Central Pictures had produced and distributed a string of Mohanlal films including Rasathantram, Naran, Baba Kalyani, Ali Bhai, Innathe Chintha Vishayam, etc. From now onwards, Maxlab will be distributing Aashirwad's films.
