Director B. Unnikrishnan's second venture Maadambi, starring superstar Mohanlal in the lead, will be released statewide on July 4. Mohanlal's most-awaited movie, in which he is paired opposite Kavya Madhavan for the first time, is said to be racy and entertaining.
Mohanlal plays the role of 'Blade' Gopalakrishna Pillai, a kind-hearted money-lender, who knows how to recover his interest and principal using the right pressure tactics. He lends money at a low interest rates but makes it a point to recover his money on the due date without fail. And if there is any delay, he can become extremely harsh.
Kavya Madhavan acts as Jayalakshmi, manager of a newly opened bank that offers loans at a very low interest rates. Jayalakshmi enters the village with a very definite purpose, which is revealed in a very interesting climax.
Upcoming actor Ajmal, who is now doing the new Tamil film TN 09 AL 4777 (remake of the Bollywood hit Taxi No 9211 by actor John Abraham), plays Mohanlal's younger brother in Maadambi. The songs, composed by M. Jayachandran, have already become popular in the state.
