Is
it
a
mere
coincidence
or
a
rumour
that
the
story
of
Mohanlal's
Madambi,
written
and
directed
by
B.
Unnikrishnan,
looks
similar
to
the
story
of
Mammootty's
Parunthu,
written
by
T.A.
Razak?
Anyway,
the
latest
buzz
says
the
storylines
of
both
films
are
almost
the
same.
In
Madambi,
Mohanlal
plays
Gopalakrishna
Pillai,
a
money
lender
in
a
village
who
knows
how
to
recover
his
interest
and
principal
using
the
right
pressure
techniques.
In
Parunthu,
Mammootty
is
a
ruthless
moneylender,
Gillette
Purushothaman,
who
uses
all
dirty
and
crude
tricks
to
recover
his
interest
and
principal
from
his
borrowers
as
money
is
the
ultimate
thing
for
him.
Meanwhile,
directors
Padmakumar
and
Unnikrishnan
say
that
are
not
bothered
even
if
both
films
are
similar.
There
might
be
a
few
common
things,
but
the
depiction
of
the
characters
would
be
very
different
when
it
comes
to
Mohanlal
and
Mammootty,
they
add.
Mammootty
and
Mohanlal
are
currently
busy
shooting
their
films
which
are
likely
to
be
released
in
75
centres
on
July
18.
Let's
wait
few
more
days
to
see
both
on
the
screen,
then
decide!
