Veteran director Fazil's upcoming Malayalam film Moses D. Samuel (Title yet to be finalized), which was earlier slated to be released this Christmas, has been re-scheduled to Republic Day (January 26, 2009). Fazil is directing after a long gap. His last film was the Tamil film Oru Naal Oru Kanavu (2005) starring Srikanth and Sonia Agarwal.

Produced by Johny Sagariga, Moses D. Samuel revolves around two thieves, Moses D. Samuel (Dilip) and Kunninmel Sankaran (Harisree Asokan), who habitually enjoy sumptuous meals at marriages without being invited. One day, Samuel witnesses an accident where an overspeeding car driven by a woman hits a child. Realizing that it is the lady's mistake, Samuel asks her to compensate the child. To escape from the predicament, the lady gives some amount as compensation and flees.

Later, it is known that the accident was a drama played by Samuel and the child to defraud people for money. However, the incident brings an interesting turning point in their lives, forming the climax of the film. Aswathy, a final year student at St. Theresa's College, Ernakulam is the heroine.

Other cast members include Baby Niveditha, Janardhanan, Sudheesh, Anoop Chandran, Krishna Kumar and Sudheer. Veteran music director Ouseppachan will set music for lyrics written by Kaithapram. Camera is handled by Anandakuttan.
