Our chirpy Nadiya Moidu is back
Nadiya had an important role to play alongside Padmini in Nokketha Doorathu Kannum Nattu, which was released in 1984. The beautiful and chirpy actress was instantly noticed and next year, Fazil remade the film in Tamil as Poove Poochudava with the same cast. After doing numerous films in Malayalam, Nadiya moved to Tamil. There also, she was accepted and was known as an actress who preferred to do roles with substance.
Though she got married and retired early from films to lead a peaceful home life, she did try to make a comeback through Vadhu Doctoranu opposite Jayaram in 1994. The film was not too well-received despite good reviews and it was in 2004 that she got a break in Tamil with M. Kumaran s/o Mahalakshmi. The film was a big hit and now Nadiya is doing character roles, mainly in Tamil. It is exciting news for Malayalees that Nadiya, who is still being remembered for her role in Nokketha Doorathu Kannum Nattu, can again be seen on the big screen very son.
