Nandita Das fond of Malayalees

By Staff

Actress and director Nandita Das arrived at Thiruvanthapuram on Friday to attend a function organized by a private management studies firm. She said that she would shortly visit Thiruvanthapuram to represent the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) as a director. Her debut film Firaque has been selected for IFFK. She said that in the past, she had been here to attend IFFK as an actress. This time, it is as a director. "I like the opinion of Malayalees. The theme Firaque is about Gujarat riots. It projects the relationship and mentality of people after the riots."

Malayalees are familiar with Nandita as she had acted in several Malayalam movies including the Jayaraj directed Kannaki. She has also made a mark in other South Indian languages like Tamil and Telugu.
