A
battle
is
on
between
the
producers
of
Thalappavu
and
Thirakkatha,
both
featuring
Prithviraj,
as
to
which
film
should
release
on
'Thiruvonam',
12th
September.
Prithviraj
on
the
other
hand
does
not
want
to
be
part
of
the
fight,
since
both
films
are
close
to
his
heart.
Thalappavu,
directed
by
actor
Madhupal,
is
said
to
be
the
screen
adaptation
of
the
life
story
of
the
Naxalite
Varghese
who
tried
to
organize
the
working
class
of
the
Wayanad
tea
and
coffee
estates
in
the
70's.
Varghese
went
missing
and
the
police
kept
mum
about
the
incident
until
a
policeman
came
forward
in
the
late
90s,
saying
that
he
was
part
of
the
team
who
captured
and
killed
Varghese.
Prithvi
is
said
to
be
a
Left
sympathizer
in
real
life
and
has
acted
almost
free
for
this
low-budget
movie.
Lal,
Manianpillai
Raju,
Rohini
and
Jagathy
are
the
other
actors
in
this
film.
Thirakkatha,
on
the
other
hand,
with
Prithvi
playing
the
role
of
a
budding
director
in
the
80's
and
his
struggles,
is
directed
by
Akber
Ahmed.
It
recounts
the
inside
story
of
the
glamorous
world
of
cinema.
Priyamani
plays
the
role
of
an
actress.
The
film
is
produced
by
Varnachitra
Subair
and
Capital
Theatres.
Both
producers
seem
to
be
determined
that
they
will
release
both
films
on
the
same
date.
Which
one
gets
the
approval
of
the
audience
remains
to
be
seen.
