Ace
director
Priyadarshan,
who
is
busy
with
the
Hindi
version
of
the
Malayalam
super
hit
Katha
Parayumpol
with
Shahrukh
Khan,
has
lashed
out
at
P.
Vasu,
director
of
latest
Tamil
version
Kuselan
(Kathanayukudu
in
Telugu),
saying
the
essence
of
the
original
Malayalam
film
Katha
Parayumbol
is
missing
in
the
Tamil
version.
Priyadarshan
feels
Vasu
has
messed
up
the
plot
by
giving
more
importance
to
Rajinikanth"s
superstar
character.
The
trouble
with
Kuselan
is
that
it
was
made
out
to
be
a
larger-than-life
Rajinikanth
film
which
it
was
not
and
introduction
of
characters
that
were
not
there
in
the
original.
As
a
result,
the
focus
of
the
story
shifted
from
the
main
character
Pasupathy,
done
brilliantly
by
Sreenivasan
in
the
original,
he
said.
He
added
that
the
Hindi
version
Billoo
Barber
would
follow
the
original
version
of
Katha
Parayumbol.
"Though
my
film
also
stars
a
superstar
(Shahrukh
Khan)
as
a
superstar,
I've
nowhere
tried
to
increase
his
role
or
heighten
the
impact
of
his
presence.
I'm
not
that
kind
of
filmmaker."
Priyadarshan
said
that
in
Billoo
Barber,
Shahrukh
Khan
would
appear
only
towards
the
climax
of
the
film.
"My
hero
is
Irrfan
Khan,
who
plays
the
role
of
Sreenivasan.
I
have
not
tried
to
heighten
the
impact
of
SRK
or
to
glorify
him."
