Priyamani,
who
won
the
prestigious
National
Award
for
the
best
actress
for
her
Tamil
film
Paruthiveeran
recently,
has
reportedly
lashed
out
at
reporters
when
she
was
asked
about
the
recent
hike
in
her
remuneration,
from
Rs.20
lakhs
to
Rs.40
lakhs
per
film.
"What
is
wrong
in
hiking
my
salary?
Do
you
expect
me
to
work
for
a
fixed
amount
all
through
my
career?" A
website
quoted
her
as
shooting
back
at
the
reporters
who
raised
the
question
of
her
hiked
rate.
When
she
was
asked
to
confirm
if
her
remuneration
is
Rs.40
lakhs
now,
she
said,
"I
don't
want
to
disclose
how
much
I
am
paid
now,
but
I
wish
it
was
Rs.40
lakhs."
Earlier,
Priyamani
made
it
very
clear
that
she
does
not
want
to
be
typecast
with
a
particular
type
of
role
when
directors
offered
her
similar
roles.
It
appears
the
offscreen
Priyamani
is
as
bold
as
the
onscreen
Priyamani
in
many
respects.
Priyamani
is
currently
acting
with
Prithviraj
for
Ninaithalae
Inikkum,
a
remake
of
the
Malayalam
hit
Classmates.
She
has
been
signed
opposite
Bharath
for
Arumugam,
to
be
directed
by
Suresh
Krishna.
She
will
commence
shooting
for
Mani
Rathnam's
film
this
September.
