Malayalam playback singer Ranjini Jose debuted with the super hit Malayalam song 'Maasam Maasam monsoon Maasam' of Mammootty's Aparichitan in 2004. She has sung nearly 35 songs for Malayalam and Tamil films so far and is now all set to make her first appearance on the silver screen with a film being directed by Shaji Kailas, the leading Malayalam director who has given us numerous hits with superstars Mammootty and Suresh Gopi.

Ranjini will play the main character named Isabella in Shaji Kailas' upcoming project Red Chillies, starring none other than superstar Mohanlal in the lead. She has rendered songs for her character as well. Red Chillies is produced by Renjith under the banner of Rajaputhra, which had earlier made Chinthamani Kola Case with Sureshgopi.

Red Chillies, a Christmas release from Mohanlal in 2008, is about murder mystery revolving around a gang of nine Radio Jockeys working with FM 919.1. Mohanlal plays a character named Omar, an NRI businessman who has settled in the Gulf and runs this radio station in Kerala. Omar is an impeccable personality with multi-lingual talents and can speak English, Arabic and Malayalam fluently.

All his female staff are madly in love with him and he always communicates through e-mails to his female jockeys. On a New Year eve, he promises that he will reveal his love for one of them. But in a terrible twist in the plot, they are murdered one by one! The film is scripted by A.K. Sajan.
