Kavyam:Sureshgopi on a different path

After donning the powerful role of Kannan Perumalayan in National Award winning Kaliyattam (1997), action hero Sureshgopi is back again with yet another different role in upcoming Kavyam, directed by Anish Varma and Santhosh.

Suresh plays the role of Kunjunni Namboothiri, a traditional Brahmamangalam Mana member, who has left his home years ago and returns with his young wife Umadevi and a child.

Being a pure soul, Kunjunni Namboothiri struggles amidst the clashes between traditional and modern values in the society. The existing social setup does not allow him and his family to lead a peaceful life. Finally, Kunjunni Namboothiri is forced him to take a very drastic step.

Set in the backdrop of the Namboothiri community, Kavyam has an essentially female oriented plot, scripted by Aalamkkodu Leela Krishanan.

After Kichamani MBA, Navya Nair will pair with Sureshgopi in this film, being produced by Saji Kadampazhipuram and Rasheed. She plays the key role of Umadevi. Other cast members include Manoj K. Jayan, Vijaya Raghavan and others.

Produced by Saji Kadabazhippuram, Kavyam has completed its entire shooting and is presently in its editing and dubbing stages. The film is expected to grace theatres soon.
