Director
Ranjith's
latest
film
Thirakkatha,
starring
Prithviraj
and
Priyamani
in
the
lead
roles,
has
slowly
become
a
steady
box
office
gainer,
in
spite
of
it
being
the
month
of
Ramzan
when
collections
are
normally
poor
in
most
parts
of
Malabar.
"Collections
have
been
steadily
increasing
after
a
slow
start.
People
have
started
coming
to
watch
the
film
after
it
created
a
very
positive
opinion," said
Mohan
Kumar,
assistant
manager,
Sree
Theatre,
Kozhikode.
Thirakkatha,
arguably
the
best
from
script-writer
and
director
Ranjith,
has
been
liked
by
most
people
for
its
interesting
story
line.
Director
Jayaraj
commented
that
the
success
of
Thirakkatha,
a
film
without
superstars,
is
an
extremely
encouraging
sign
for
filmmakers
like
him.
"It
is
great
to
know
that
there
is
still
an
audience
for
a
good,
meaningful
film.
I
am
now
more
confident
about
my
next
film,
Gulmohar,
which
is
due
for
release,"
he
said.
Director
Ranjith,
who
is
incidentally
the
hero
of
Gulmohar,
said
he
is
delighted
to
know
Thirakkatha
had
been
received
well
by
the
discerning
Malayalee
audience.
"I
was
confident
that
I
had
made
a
good
film
and
it"s
heartening
to
know
that
it
is
doing
well
at
the
box
office,"
he
said.
