Veteran director Joshy's much-hyped multi-starrer Twenty:20, featuring all major Malayalam stars, is expected to grace theatres by 24th October. The movie, which will have the best of releases in more than 100 theatres, is produced and distributed by Dilip's 'Grand Production' on behalf of AMMA (The Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes) as part of a fund-raising drive.
Twenty:20, which has completed its shooting in Kochi last month, is currently in the final phase of dubbing. In fact, the shooting was to be completed in a single schedule from December 7 to January 27 in and around Kochi, but dragged for several months due to date clashes between the stars. The post-production works are being done at Lal Media in Kochi and Vismaya in Thiruvananthapuram.
Reports are that the film evolves around a murder mystery. It has been reported that Mohanlal is playing a character Jagannathan, the most successful businessman in Kerala, while Mammootty is playing the role of an advocate. Dileep will appear as the younger brother of Mohanlal. Sureshgopi is again in a police role, a stern upright DSP having a longstanding rivalry with the character played by Lal. Sreenivasan plays a pivotal role.
Film-makers claim that equal footage has been given to all stars who are acting for free in Twenty:20. Though the filmmakers are tight-lipped about the storyline and the role of the stars, this big budget movie is expected to have a big canvas that can effectively show all the artists in adequate roles.
