The release of the Tamil and Malayalam bilingual Vande Mataram (Malayalam)/ Aruvadai (Tamil), starring Mammootty and Arjun, is postponed. Slated for a Christmas release, it is failing to take off at the right time due to a snag in shooting. Some of the scenes which were to be completed earlier are still incomplete, forcing the producer to delay the release further. It is heard that the crew failed to get permission in time to shoot at the Air Force Academy resulting in the delay. Sneha, Jagadish and Jai Akash play pivotal roles.

This was the only big budget film to be released for Christmas in Kerala. Now, with the postponed release, it seems that Malayalees will have to be content with the small budget films that will be releasing in this season.
