Navya's Antharjanam in Yugapurush

In the forthcoming film Yugapurush by director R.Sukumar, based on the life of Sree Naryana Guru, Navya has been cast to do the role of a Brahmin lady named Savithri Antharjanam who admires the views of Sree Narayana Guru. She changes her lifestyle according to the views of the Guru.

The character Savithri Antharjanam is based on that of the poet Kumaran Asan. The character in the film Yugapurush resembles the character in "Duravastha", the poem written by Kumaran Asan. Savithri loves Koran, who is a Pulaya, a lower caste man and later marries him.

Earlier Kavya Madhavan was cast to do this role. But when her marriage got fixed she was forced to reject it. A.V Anoop is the producer. Tamil film actor Thalaivaasal Vijay dons the role of Sree Narayana Guru. Mohanlal dons the role of Swami Vivekananda and Mammootty as a revolutionist. The shoot will start in Ottapaalam on January 21st.
