Produced by Raju Mallyath and Zulfikar under the banner of Yuvan Entertainments, Bhramaram has Mohanlal in the role of a lorry driver plying through the high ranges of Kerala. "The film is about Mohanlal's journey from Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu to Marayoor in Idukki District of Kerala; he plays a lorry driver who meets diverse and different sorts of people during this journey," director Blessy said.
Popular Tamil-Telugu-Hindi actress Bhumika Chawla is the heroine. Lakshmi Gopalaswami has an important role alongside Murali, son of late National award winning actor Bharath Gopi. Also in the cast are Suresh Menon, Madan Babu, Murali Krishnan, Baby Nivedhitha, and others. Songs by Anil Panachooran are set to tunes by Mohan Sithara. Mohanlal has reportedly rendered a song "Annaara Kanna oodi vaa...'' for this film.
After 20 years, noted cameraman Ajay Vincent, son of director Vincent, is making a comeback to Malayalam with this film, which is likely to be completed in one schedule. It is the fifth film by Blessy as an independent director after Kazhcha (2004), Thanmathra (2005), Palunku (2006) and Calcutta News (2008). Brought to the theatres by Max Lab Entertainments, Bhramaram will be Mohanlal's summer release.
