Malayalam
producers
are
out
in
the
open
and
have
decided
to
implement
rigorous
rules
to
control
the
escalating
film
budgets
and
thus
manage
the
film
production
and
even
the
industry
as
such.
The
statistical
data
indicates
that
the
industry
has
suffered
a
loss
of
150
crores
and
many
films
have
failed
miserably
at
the
box
office
augmenting
the
miseries
all
the
more.
The
Malayalam
film
producers
have
therefore
decided
to
encourage
new
filmmakers
and
not
cast
superstars
in
the
movies.
As
the
fee
demanded
by
the
superstars
is
on
the
higher
side,
they
have
decided
to
limit
the
total
production
cost
to
3.5
crores
and
to
complete
the
shooting
within
a
time
span
of
45
days.
So
too
the
association
has
limited
the
negative
film
roll
to
a
length
of
60
thousand
feet
for
a
film.
Even
when
sources
claim
that
the
Malayalam
film
industry
is
considerably
on
a
level
plane
when
compared
to
the
exorbitant
rates
charged
in
Bollywood,
it
has
to
be
remembered
that
the
industry
does
have
to
make
some
adjustments
to
strive
in
the
times
ahead.
