IFFK host seminar on Digital technology

The 14th International film festival of Kerala(IFFK) on Sunday hosted a seminar on 'Digital technology; a new trend in cinematic aesthetics". The seminar was inaugurated by Tamil actor cum director Cheran.

Addressing the audience, Cheran said that the film community in India must strive to upgrade the technical quality of theaters in order to bring out the real aesthetics of technologically-advanced films and added saying that the impact of the ever-growing digital technology in our lives needs to be closely studied.

According to film editor Ajith Kumar digital technology kept distance in time and space from reality. He gave the keynote address for the seminar. He too added saying that the editors work under limitations today as they are not given freedom by directors now while they were given plenty by the early directors.

Other dignitaries on the dias included Kerala State Chalachitra Academy chairman K.R. Mohanan, HBO co-executive producer Kameela Fox, festival artistic director Beena Paul Venugopal, Academy vice-chairman V.K. Joseph and actress Padmapriya
