National Theatre Festival

The Information and Public Relations Department of Kerala is all set to organize a National Theatre Festival from March 1 to 11 in Thiruvananthapuram. Registrations for this ten-day cultural extravaganza have begun and for online registration, participants can log on to http://prd.kerala.gov.in/tfest/index.php.

The registration cards will be issued on February 26 at the Tagore theatre, Vazhuthacaud. The main venue of the festival is Tagore Theatre; another venue is Vailoppilly Samskriti Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram.

According to government sources, the fifth episode of this festival, focusing on the theme "Modern and Contemporary Theatre", will be a unique experience with the presence of up-to-the-date drama techniques, a real light and sound show without losing the essence of drama.

The festival will showcase plays of famous directors like Jyothish M.G. (Malayalam), Kirti Jain (Hindi), Shanmugaraja (Tamil), Zuilekha Choudhary (English), Pabitra Rabha (Garo), Maya Krishna Rao (Multilingual), Sankar Venkateswaran (Malayalam-Japanese), Santanu Bose (Bengali), Anuradha Kapur (Hindi), Veenapani Chawla (Malayalam-English), etc.
