Nayantara desperate to get rid of glam girl tag

Nayantara is mending her ways and has finally realized that it is high time that she makes a mark of her own in the film industry and get rid of the glam girl tag. The actress has decided to take up roles where there is scope for her to perform and so she has been busy listening to stories one after the other, be it from Malayalam, Tamil or Telugu.

When Nayantara had made her entry in the Malayalam film industry, she had done some serious roles in movies like Rappakal along with Mammootty, but slowly she got lost somewhere and thus confined herself to mere glamorous roles.

Shyamaprasad's Electra is a God send opportunity for her. The movie Electra to be directed by this famous film maker is based on a Greek play and is centered around the character of Alexandra. It is said that Nayantara has been selected to play the pivotal role of Electra in the movie. Another news which has been doing the rounds is that Nayantara has also agreed to act in the film without charging a single penny whatsoever. Now this is what we would call a complete change of mind.
