No movies for Mahabali this Onam

Onam, the much awaited festival among the Keralites, will lack some lustre this year. No Malayalam movies would be gracing the theatres this year. Misfortunate as it can be termed, Onam coincides with the Noyambu season (Fasting period) and always cinema halls throughout Kerala have recorded poor collections during the fasting period.

However there would be some respite later in the middle of September as Ramzan would come with a spate of Malayalam movies like director Hariharan's magnum opus Pazhassi Raja with Mammootty in the lead, Siddique's Bodyguard in the company of Dileep, Robinhood by Joshy with Prithviraj and others as well.

Mahabali would come to see his praja, but he will have to return without the pleasure of having enjoyed an out and out Malayalam movie.
