The film also focuses on the life of his neighbour Madhavi, who is trying to come to terms with her unpleasant past and is struggling to bring up her daughter Gauri, a plus-two student. Though Madhavi hails froma rich family, she was later abandoned both by her husband and family. The film thus traverses through the mental agonies of Chandran and Madhavi. Manikantan is another prominent character in the movie, who tries to help Madhavi and her daughter only with the intention of seeking Gauri's hand in marriage. However there is one more surprise entrant in Gauri's life, being a pivotal part of the climax.
